The game serves as the first title in the franchise of Yo-Kai Watch and offers two playable characters such as Katie Forester and Nathan Adams. In the beginning, the player must select his favourite character, who is given a watch, which offers the abilities to see Yo-Kai. During the gameplay, the player can travel across the town finding and befriending Yo-kai, battling against vicious Yo-kai while solving problems and puzzles.
